Duties of Authors
- Reporting
The author must provide information about the process and results of their research to the editorial honestly, clearly, and comprehensively, while keeping research data safe and well-preserved.
- Originality and Plagiarism
The author must not engage in plagiarism or self-plagiarism. The manuscript submitted must be original, written by the author, based on their own ideas, and not copied from others. Authors are strictly prohibited from passing off someone else's work as their own.
- Repetition of Submission
The author must ensure that the manuscript has not been submitted to another journal or publication. Redundant submissions will be rejected.
- Author Status
The author must inform the editor of their competence or qualifications in the relevant field. The submitting author should be the first author (or co-author), and any issues in the publication process can be addressed accordingly.
- Error in Manuscript
The author must immediately inform the editor of any errors in the manuscript, including names, affiliations, quotations, or other elements affecting the meaning or quality. Corrections should be proposed promptly.
- Confidentiality of Information
The author must avoid disclosing personal information that identifies patients. When patient photos are essential, written approval must be obtained and included in the manuscript.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
The author must understand publication ethics to avoid conflicts of interest, ensuring smooth and ethical processing of the manuscript.
Duties of Editors
- Publication Information
Editors must ensure that guidelines for authors and other stakeholders are clearly accessible in both print and electronic formats. Editors can consult each other before making final decisions.
- Sharing of Peer-Reviewed Manuscripts
Editors must ensure reviewers receive manuscripts and clear instructions regarding the review process.
- Objectivity and Neutrality
Editors must remain objective, impartial, and honest, regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, race, affiliation, or nationality. Decisions should be communicated to authors along with reviewers’ comments unless offensive or defamatory. Editors must recuse themselves if conflicts of interest exist.
- Confidentiality
Editors must ensure manuscripts submitted for review do not disclose authors’ identities, and respect requests to avoid reviewing certain manuscripts. Confidentiality must be maintained by all staff.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Editors must understand publication ethics to avoid conflicts of interest, ensuring smooth and safe publication processes.
Duties of Journal Managers
- Decision-Making
Journal managers should define the organization’s mission and objectives, especially regarding policy and publication decisions, without personal interest.
- Freedom
Managers must provide reviewers and editors a comfortable working environment and respect author privacy.
- Warranties and Promotions
Managers must protect intellectual property rights (copyright), manage funds transparently, and promote published results to the public while ensuring usefulness.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest
Journal managers must adhere to publication ethics to avoid conflicts of interest, ensuring smooth and ethical manuscript processing.
